Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is considered the richest man in the world, with his net worth being estimated at a staggering $270 billion.

Although an incredibly successful businessman, Musk apparently does not have his father Errol's approval. In fact, in a new interview, Errol openly said that he is not proud of his son.

Errol Musk Talks About His Son

In a recent appearance on Australia's The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Errol Musk discussed his family, including Elon and his younger brother, Kimbal.

Asked whether he was proud of the Tesla founder, Errol said he was not, and noted that his family has long been involved in the business.

"No, well, you know, I mean, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time. It's not as though we suddenly started doing something," he said, as reported by Business Insider.

Errol Musk said all three of his children -- Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca -- traveled around the world with him when they were little kids.

"They've seen a lot of things, and we've done a lot of things together. But Elon has in fact sort of really surpassed the mark," Musk said.

Later in the interview, Errol described Kimbal as his "pride and joy," noting that he, too, is a very wealthy man.

As Business Insider noted, Kimbal's net worth is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $700 million

The elder Musk said his son Elon was "not as happy as he'd like to be."

Elon "feels like he's behind schedule" and "where he is now, he would have liked to have been there five years ago," Errol said, adding that his son is very "frustrated with progress" some of his companies have made.

Errol added that Elon has not been able to find a good partner.

"He has to find a woman to give up what she's doing, and that's not easy," the Musk patriarch said.

Unlike Elon, Kimbal is very happy and enjoying his marriage with Cristiana Wyly, he added.

Elon Musk is going through a turbulent period.

After committing to buying the social network Twitter and then backing out of the deal entirely, the billionaire is facing several different lawsuits.

The most recent one was filed in Delaware Chancery Court by an investor who holds 5,500 Twitter shares, as reported by Bloomberg.

The suit accuses Musk of making "lame rationales for reneging on his contract" with Twitter.
