'John Doe 28' appears in an online video engaging a minor in sexually explicit activity. Now the FBI is asking for your help identifying the unknown child predator, known only as John Doe 28. Pictured here is a shot of the man's face and the logo on the shirt he was wearing. Officials hope these images will help identify and apprehend John Doe 28.

"Subjects who show their faces in child pornography are not typical," said Special Agent Karen Jurden. "It is our hope that someone will recognize this individual and come forward. We were able to recover a very clear image of John Doe 28."

NCMEC and Violent Crimes Against Children have been working on enhancing the two minute video for clues to help identify John Doe 28. John Doe 28 and the victim appear in a room with a blue chair and a picture hanging on the wall in the background. The chair and picture may be recognizable to someone who is familiar with the room.

John Doe 28 is wearing wire-framed glasses and a burgundy t-shirt has a fish logo on it. Officials believe he may be a US citizen because he speaks one English word - "careful" - in the video.

"Sometimes we will get some type of identifier that narrows down the geographic region," said Jurden, who has been investigating crimes against children for the last four years, "but that didn't happen in this case. That's why we are asking for the public's help nationwide."

The video was part of a San Francisco man's illegal collection and was recovered when he was arrested on child pornography charges. Child pornography videos are often traded anonymously online.

The FBI's efforts to identify John Doe 28 are part of the FBI's Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives. Operation Rescue Me uses advanced image analysis to obtain evidence to identify predators and their victims. ECAP works with Operation Rescue Me to enlist the public's help identifying criminals who appear in child pornography. Since 2004, ECAP has successfully helped solve 20 out of 28 child pornography cases, leading to the identification of nearly 70 child victims.

"We need to identify John Doe 28," Jurden said, "so we can make sure no harm comes to that little boy."

John Doe 28 is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s or 40s who has a receding hairline and wears wire-framed glasses. Anyone with information should submit a tip online or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

The FBI are also searching for an army recruit who reportedly is planning Fort-Hood style attack.
